10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 20, Lazy Sunday

Today I got a late start…I woke up pretty early, but after I ate breakfast I fell right back to sleep and slept for another three hours. I know, I don’t think you can get any lazier than that. Usually I don’t let myself waste so much of the day like that, but then I had to keep reminding myself that I have tomorrow off :-) Such a treat, because that means I only have a three day week of classes. Tomorrow is also the start of my fourth week. That seems like so long to me! But then when I say 21 days, it doesn’t seem as long. I would say so far I am happy with my results. In general I just feel better. Even if at the end of this I don’t have a sick pack or look drastically different, I will still be happy to be living a healthier lifestyle, and have better habits.

So finally when I snapped out of my lethargic mood today I got a chunk of work done. My homework for one my design classes is mostly about developing good craftmanship, so I find the work for it to be relaxing acutally. Being a sophomore my classes are now all related to graphic design, so even though I have a heavier work load, I love what I’m doing. After  working for a bit, I went to the grocery store with my roomate. The weather here is so nice, and we went around sunset, so what is usually an annoying walk to the grocery store was really enjoyable. It had been a while since I went grocery shopping, and I had to competely restock my fridge with vegetables, so it was large…and expensive shopping trip. But it should last me a while…it should at least!

Then when I got back, I worked out. Started out with Lower Body, and Cardio, and finished with Abs. I always think that lower body is going to feel like yoga, like I’ll feel it in my muscles, but I wont break a sweat, but then a couple minutes in I’m already sweating. I really liked this combination today…by day 20, I am definitely developing favorites when it comes to the different combinations of 10 minute trainer work outs.

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 19, Busy Busy Day

I knew today was going to be a busy day, I had sorority events in the morning, and at night, and in between I barely had enough time to eat, and nap…which was more important to me than the work out, so I gave myself a day off. It was a little sooner than I was planning on, but I figured the next two days I had no plans, so I would definitely have enough time.

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 18, Cardio, Abs, Lower Body

Finally, I am back to normal. This whole week has been busy, but I love it. I completely prefer being busy and keeping a tight schedule rather than being lazy and having so much free time. Today in between class and getting some errands done, I did my Abs work out. I know that whenever do Abs, I’ll definitely feel it work, but I always forget that how much of a sweat it is. I never have a problem making time for the 10-30 minute work out, but for the shower after and the getting ready time to follow is what I have a hard time making time for. So today, I broke up the 3 work outs, and did them through out the day. I don’t know why I didn’t think to do that earlier. When I got back from my errands (which consisteted of 3 hours of walking around the city…and doing some shopping :-) I did cardio, and lower body. For dinner, I made a delicious pizza, it such an easy and cheap thing to make, that will feed me and all my roomates, and since I’m making it myself, I can keep it healthier.

So my weekend officially started at 12:30 today, and so far it has been very productive! I am spoiled and get a four day weekend, so it won’t be hard to fit all my work outs in this weekend. Also, I hope it is nice so I can go on a run along the river, in addition to the 10 minute workouts.

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 17, Feeling Good

Today it felt really good to wake up without a sore throat, and somewhat cleared nose. I got a good nights sleep last night, and I am feeling almost completely better. I definitely felt well enough to do all three workouts today. I started out with Lower Body, which is one my favorites to start with. Then I did Total Body, and finished with Cardio. It feels good to be getting back in to the swing. Today I didn’t eat so well because I had to throw out half my groceries that have went bad sitting in the fridge. I am still new at this buying groceries thing. I love being able to cook, because I am learning it requires more planning if I want to get the most out of what I buy. I only buy food that are found on those first two levels of the nutrition guide, but roomates are always bake and I am constantly surrounded by the temptation of cupcakes and brownies.

Tomorrow after class is done at 12:30, I am done for the week! But my weekend is looking to be very busy as well, so it is not so much of a break. I have a lot of errands to do in the city, which always ends up being like a workout for me. I love being able to walk everywhere, you could walk miles just shopping and not even realize it! Tomorrow I’ll have my Week 3 Pics up, I am not expecting to see much change because I feel like this past week was sort of on pause.

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 16, Back in the Game…almost

Good news: I am feeling a lot better today! Not completely back to normal…my nose is still really stuffy so it makes breathing out of my nose impossible. Today was such a busy day too, I was non-stop busy from the moment I woke up, until now. Today was a long day of classes, and I am joining a sorority this term, so that added to my crazy schedule, with having to attend a lot of events. I actually prefer being busy, than having a lot of time on my hands. Although I may be stressed while trying to get everything done, everything does eventually get done.

So today I didn’t want to over do it, seeing how it has been a couple days since I’ve done a full 10 minute trainer workout, (Which I’m really disapointed about, I really was starting to feel like I was having positivie results, and now… a set back) so I eased myself back into the routine with 10 minutes of Abs. Tomorrow I’ll probably add another workout, I’ll have to check out the schedule. But I can’t wait to be healthy! I’m already half way done with my week-another reason why I love having a four day “work” week.

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 15, Sick

If this were elementary school, I probably would have stayed home from school today. I woke up this morning feeling worse than yesterday. Not only did it feel like a cold but my whole body was achey. Luckily I didn’t have class until one, so I could take it easy and get more sleep in, but unfortunately I still didnt feel well enough to work out today. I hate having to take a day off, because I really would like to see results from week to week, but these past couple days I haven’t been doing well. I really hope that tomorrow I feel better. I caught what all my roomates had, and they were all better within about three days, so I think that by tomorrow I should be able to do some of the work outs planned.

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 14, Getting Sick?

This weekend was great, exhausting, but really fun. Friday night me and my friends from home went out to my favorite mexican place near by, and then went to my friends parties they were having. No matter what we do, or where we go, we always have fun, and together, we’re usually the life of the party. Despite staying out really late Friday night, we were able to get up, and ready by 11 on Saturday morning, to start our day out in the city. (I dont know if I mentioned it before, but I am going to school in Philadelphia, so that is what I mean, by city). My one friend had never really been to Philly before, so we wanted to give her a full Philly experience. It was great walking around, showing her the different parts, shopping, getting lunch at Reading Terminal (one of my favorite spots). Also this weekend, was the Obama rally with Bruce Springsteen, which was free! So we made sure that was incorporated in our adventure in the city. It was a perfect day for an outdoor concert and I was really happy to be there supporting Obama too. But by the time that was over, it was 5:00, and had been on our feet for six hours. So although it was my day off on Saturday, I think we must have walked over five miles. So much walking that all of our legs were sore this morning when we woke up.

We also went out last night too, although we took it easier, and called it a night sooner. But this morning, I woke up with a sore throat that I hoped would go away, but unfortunately it has only gotten worse, and I started to feel really feverish while I was doing homework today. Out of my four roomates, none of us have a thermometer so I can’t take my temperature, but today I am taking it easy, drinking tea, and hoping that witha  good nights sleep tonight I’ll feel better tomorrow. I didn’t want two days off in row though, so I just did the Lower Abs workout today. I really wanted to do all three but after the Lower Body, I just wanted to collapse. Now that my visitors are gone, and I wont be having anymore for a long time, and the excitement and distractions of being back at school are over with, I am really planning on getting even more serious with the work outs. It seems like whenever I really start to feels its positive affects, there is a step back. I need to workout not letting that happen.

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 13, Day Off

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day 12, TGIF

Today I made sure to get up early to do my 10 minute trainer workout. My best friends from home are all coming to visit, and I knew if I didn’t work out before they got here, it wouldn’t happen. Today was Cardio, Lower Body, Yoga, and then I added some Abs. I didn’t do all the moves in the abs, just my favorites, haha. For the most part cardio is pretty routine, I still get a good work out from it, and break a sweat, but its becoming easier. For those of you doing it too, is it just me or do you really dread hop, squat and run home? I wish it was in the beggining instead of the end, just to get it over with. I really don’t have any complaints with lower body. I like that its slower pace, its a nice follow up to the cardio. And as much as I love stretching, sometimes I find myself getting antsy when I know my workout is ending with yoga, because it is so relaxing, and I’m usually in a rush to shower or get to somewhere I have to be.

So tomorrow I will give myself a day off. I am so excited for my friends to come, and to take them out here in the city. Obviously we love to eat and drink together, so I am going have to be very careful and stick to the plan as best I can. I haven’t seen them in a couple months, maybe they’ll notice any changes!

10 Minute Trainer Reviews: Day Eleven, Not feeling well.

What a long week. Mon-Thurs. is non stop working. Friday  I have no class, so it works out, but by Thursday afternoon, I am exhausted. Today after class I was not feeling well. I thought after taking a nap I would feel better but that wasnt the case. I did push myself to work out. I started with the Abs workout, that was on the schedule for the day, and when it was time for cardio I did not have the motivation at all. I would have taken this as a my day off, but I am having some friends come visit me this weekend, and I know one of those days I will definitely need and want to take a day off. I dont think it was too bad, today being my first day that I was not able to do all 30 minutes of excersize.
