Today I did Abs, Cardio, and Yoga. I have been modifying what is planned out on the schedule, I find myself doing the abs everyday even if it is not suggested. Today it felt good to do yoga cause I woke up in a bad mood and that was like a meditation for me.

Today I got up after my alarm clock went off only one time! It was quite an accomplishment for me. Still half asleep I made my routine breakfast of oatmeal and a granny smith apple. I feel like I cannot function until I have eaten breakfast. Before it used to be I could not function until I had a cup of coffee. For the longest time I would never eat breakfast, which my parents knew, and kept telling me how important it was. I don’t know why I never wanted to eat it, until one day mom started making me breakfast (and by breakfast I mean a toasted bagel or toast) and brought it into my room, so I was able to eat as I rushed to get ready for school. If it wasn’t for her practically making me get into the habit of eating breakfast, I think I would still be skipping it, and making up for it later in the day. Now that I am so dependant on it I have no idea how I used to get by skipping breakfast.

I watched tv as I ate my oatmeal and could barely keep my eyes open. I thought about crawling right back in bed and getting another couple hours of sleep, but I fought it off and was able to get some productive hours of work in and I did my work out all before my classes today. Today I did Yoga, Abs, and Lower Body. It felt so good to do yoga today, my body has been so tense sitting in front of the computer for hours, or leaning over doing my design homework for hours, I wish I could take an hour long class soon, it is definitely what I need right now with the crazy amount of work and stress that come before finals.

This weekend turned out to be way busier than I had planned. Some personal things came up that I had to deal with, so I was exhausted physically and emotionally that I just didn’t push myself to work-out. If anyone is reading this religious I apologize for not posting…I usually am really good about keeping up with this, so I just slipped out. Well I have a feeling this is going to be a long week. I am pretty jam packed with obligations between my sorority and my classes, which all happen to have big projects due this week.

Today, when things calmed down, I got right back into it and did Cardio, Lower Abs, and Yoga. I can’t believe I am at Week Six now! At this point a lot of the excersizes have become rather easy, mostly in lower Abs, but still I get a workout. As this workout gets more repetitive, and I feel less challenged, it is definitely not like those first few workouts where I was totally wiped after it. As far as my eating has been, I have kept to eat healthy, with rarely eating junk food. I think the nutritional component is a very big of how much results you see. I know weeks where I eat better and healthier, I see better results. So even when these 90 days are over, I know that is one thing I will keep up for sure.

Today I made sure to get up early to do my 10 minute trainer workout. My best friends from home are all coming to visit, and I knew if I didn’t work out before they got here, it wouldn’t happen. Today was Cardio, Lower Body, Yoga, and then I added some Abs. I didn’t do all the moves in the abs, just my favorites, haha. For the most part cardio is pretty routine, I still get a good work out from it, and break a sweat, but its becoming easier. For those of you doing it too, is it just me or do you really dread hop, squat and run home? I wish it was in the beggining instead of the end, just to get it over with. I really don’t have any complaints with lower body. I like that its slower pace, its a nice follow up to the cardio. And as much as I love stretching, sometimes I find myself getting antsy when I know my workout is ending with yoga, because it is so relaxing, and I’m usually in a rush to shower or get to somewhere I have to be.

So tomorrow I will give myself a day off. I am so excited for my friends to come, and to take them out here in the city. Obviously we love to eat and drink together, so I am going have to be very careful and stick to the plan as best I can. I haven’t seen them in a couple months, maybe they’ll notice any changes!

Raising the bands above my head I was not able to do at first, but today I was able to, no problem. Yoga was nice and relaxing as always, though today my shoulder started to bother me when I was doing the right angle stretch.

In addition to these workouts I really wanna start running on my own. There is a great bike path along the river, two minutes from where I live, and it is always so nice to run on, but unfortunately I have not found the time to dedicate to that. I know if I used my time more wisely I could probably fit it in at least 4 times a week, but it something I’ll have to work on.

Today was an easy day for both my classes, and my work out. I only had one class today, from one-three. I woke up around 10 and did Cardio, Abs, and Yoga. After a week of these 10 minute exercises I have gotten comfortable and familiar enough with the moves that I turned down the narration of Tony, and played my motivational work out music in the background. Compared to other workout videos that I have tried to follow before, Tony’s narration doesn’t get on my nerves and his crazy high energy is actually entertaining sometimes. But with the workouts starting to get repetitive I think playing my own music helps keep it exciting.

I really enjoy yoga, I wish it went on for longer. I could sit in that Pigeon stretch for 5 minutes, its such an easy stretch but you feel it so much at the same time. After doing these workouts for a week, I feel like I know what I am doing, but the only downside to doing these workouts at home, following a video, is that I could be doing these moves wrong and have no idea. Sometimes if a roommate is around, I’ll ask if it looks like I’m doing it right, they would be the first to tell me if I looked ridiculous.

I feel like this weekend was a little bit of set back. Friday morning after working out I was really feeling great, and feeling like I could already see and feel the affects of keeping up with these workouts. Then the weekend came, and I did drink, and slacked a little bit with my nutrition plan, so I just have to get back on track, and have now learned my lesson, that I can’t slack with the work out just because its the weekend.

Our fully stocked fridge! I wonder how long it will last...

Today I woke up at 8:30, for the second day in a row. Even though it requires my roommates to shake me and turn the lights on to wake me up, getting up this early three days in a row has already been an accomplishment for me! I didn’t waste that much time before starting the workout. The 10 Minute Trainer has replaced my morning coffee for my boost of energy. Today was cardio again, I am getting more comfortable doing the different moves, so now I am not wasting half the minute trying to figure out what it is I am trying to be doing. After cardio was Abs, and I took less breaks this time. The ab exercises that start off in plank are the most difficult for me, so I usually do the easier option that Tony offers.

Today was also my first day doing the 10 Minute Trainer yoga flex. It was really nice to end the workout with some stretching. It had been a while since I have really taken the time to stretch, and it something I should do everytime I workout. I liked the 10 Minute Trainer yoga workout, it was definitely somethign I could handle. This summer I took my first yoga class, and it was not at all what I expected. I did not expect to break a sweat and feel my muscles burn, and despite being the youngest one in the class by at least 20 years I was struggling most. But hopefully as these workouts become more routine that will not be the case anymore!

As far as the nutrition plan has been working out for me, so far I have been eating very healthy at school. Not even having junk food in the kitchen makes that not even an option for me, and being so busy with classes I do not have the time to snack. So far my breakfasts have consisted of Cheerios or a cup of yogurt with some fruit, like suggested on the meal plan. The most difficult thing to follow with the nutrition plan is when to eat during the day. With classes back to back I can’t always eat every 2-3 hours, but I do my best!

What a wonderful day! You wouldn’t know it by the way it started out. It was rainy and dreary outside. Really felt like fall. But by early afternoon the sun was out and it was hot. We decided to take the kids to the local aple orchard (this is a family traidtion) to do our yearly round up of apples. We had such a great time. We rode of the hay wagon out to the trees and icked for about 1/2 hour. After we loaded up our van we went to visit the honey house that they had. The kids and I tried real honeycomb. It was delicious!!! All in all a fantastic day spent together as a family. Tomorrow we will start on another tradition. Every year after we “harvest” the apples we come home and make aplebread, applesauce, dehydrated apple slices………we basically go apple nuts! We find these things are great to give as gifts during the holidays. Poeple really appreciate homemade things.

Before we left for the day I did my workout. Started off with a nice round of yoga. Great way to wake up and start the day. PS-I don’t recommend working out on an empty stomach. I find that you will tire more quickly and not perform at your best. Your body needs the energy, so eat a god breakfast and wait about an hour or two. After yoga I did the total body and cardio circuits. I am really starting to show a lot of progress as far as being able to keep up and do a maximum amount of reps. I have a lot of energy and am not as sore as when I first started the program. Now it is more or less an itch to take it to the next level with the advanced program.

Well gang, sorry to cut you guys short today. I’m gonna go spend the rest of this glorious day with my family. If you’ve been on the fence with Tony Horton’s 10 Minute Trainer, all I can say is give it a try, you won’t regret the decision. I will see you all tomorrow!!!

My kids loved their first day off school. My son’s tracher even called last night to say he was a great kid and she looked foward to having him in class! So I feel much better now know ing that they’re having a good time and behaving. My days are going by a lot faster than what I thought they would without the muchkins around. Yesterday I was going non stop except for when I stopped for lunch. Them being in school sure makes it easier for the job hunt as well.

Today was a harder day. I was still bummed about some news I recieved last night, so I really wasn’t in the mood to do my workout at all! I made it through abs great, but come cardio time I just wanted to give up about every 2 minutes. I didn’t though. I kept going, I kept cheering myself on, and I finished. My reward? Some nice yoga!!!! I cannot speak enough good about this yoga program. I know it is not as long as others, but it is just enough to get you feeling good and relaxed. I can’t believe I made it through almost 2 weeks of this program already! I thought this would go by so slow and that I would be miserable. So far though I am feeling good and not even aware of how much time has past (other than when I have to write on here).

I will comtinue to keep you all posted on my progress and I hope you do the same. I hope this is inspiring some of you to make a healthier choice in your life whether it be diet or exercise or both. It truly does make a differnce in many areas of your life and I am so very glad that I did! Talk to you all tomorrow! Oh, my weekly recap video should be up by the end of this weekend. Hope you all enjoy it!
